Hey,

favourite public figure. She is Louisa May Alcott. She is one of the most
influential female writer and poets. She is an author of many books such as
Little Women, Little Men, Jo’s Boys.
She was born on
November 29, 1832 in Germantown. She is the second daughter of Amos Alcott and
Abby May. She is the second of 4 siblings. She has 3 sisters; Anna Bronson
Alcott, Elizabeth Sewall Alcott, and Abigail May Alcott.
In 1834, Louisa’s
father established a school with Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. His
opinion on education influenced Louisa. In Louisa’s early study, she got lots
of lesson from many famous writer such as Henry David Thoreau who is the one
that gave her inspiration to write.
When the second world
war emerged, she served as a nurse ina Hospital in Georgetown, DC. She intended
to serve there for 3 months but she got sick. When she worked there, she wrote
many things about the hospital, including many mismanagement that happened
there.
Alcott’s family
suffered from finanial issues so she helped her family by working as a teacher,
domestic helper, and writer. In 1960’s Alcott began to write for the Atlantic
monthly and in her early career, she loved to use the pen name A.M. Bernard
when she was writing novels about revenge.
Her most famous novel
is Little Women. This novel is about the March family that has a serious
financial issue. This family includes a mother, a father, and four daughters. The
father of this family have to serve his country by fighting in a war, so, he
left his wife and daughters at home without enough money. But in that
condition, the March family still managed themselves to be grateful and happy.
Louisa said that this
